Prime Directive
The Eternal Foundation, a non-governmental organization based in Botswana, operates on a foundational principle known as the Prime Directive. This directive is an immutable and ever-standing principle, forming the bedrock upon which all the NGO’s regulations, policies, business projects, interventions, and activities are built, conducted, and assessed.
The Prime Directive is eloquently articulated as follows:
“The Trust, its founders, trustees, and members hold these truths to be self-evident: that all people are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable, sacred, and fundamental Rights. Among these are Life, Liberty, Liberty of Conscience, the pursuit of Holistic Health, the pursuit of Happiness, and the sustainable maintenance and support of Natural Ecosystems that support and prolong all life in accordance with original decalogue principles. To secure these rights, the trust is instituted to advocate for, promote, and protect these rights through education, capacity building, active participation, projects, leadership, and the support of groups, projects, work, and activities that further this directive and the objects of this trust”.
The Prime Directive is absolute and supersedes any individual, group, regulation, or policy. It is designed to be a guiding light, ensuring that the Foundation’s endeavors are always aligned with these fundamental truths and rights. It symbolises a commitment to equality, holistic natural health, and environmental stewardship, laying out a path for the Foundation’s future efforts and impacts.
